iDiscover is a subscription-based streaming and video-on-demand platform serving the Philippine market, blending educational content, interactive learning programmes, and entertainment for students, teachers, and families. The platform needed to handle a large and growing content library while delivering a reliable experience to a primarily mobile audience.

Challenge

Building a content platform for the Philippine market meant designing for users on a wide range of devices and varying connection speeds. The client needed a robust CMS that editors could manage independently, a content delivery architecture that performed at scale, and APIs that could feed both the web portal and companion mobile apps from a single source of truth.

What We Built

We built the iDiscover platform on Drupal, selected for its mature media content management capabilities and flexible API layer.

Full stack Drupal development — custom content types for video series, episodes, educational programmes, and subscription tiers, with role-based editorial access so the content team could publish and manage independently.

API development — RESTful APIs exposing the full content catalogue to iOS and Android mobile apps, enabling a consistent browsing and streaming experience across web and native mobile.

Responsive design — a mobile-first layout delivering the complete viewing and discovery experience on smartphones, which represent the majority of platform traffic in the Philippine market.

QA — load testing and cross-device validation to confirm the platform performed under real-world traffic patterns before launch.

Result

iDiscover launched with a platform that could scale alongside a growing content library and subscriber base. The CMS-to-API architecture meant the content team, web platform, and mobile apps all worked from the same catalogue — eliminating duplication and keeping every screen consistent.
